2018 AAST abstract acceptances

We are pleased to report that the following abstracts will be presented at the 77th Annual Meeting of AAST and Clinical Congress of Acute Care Surgery and 4th World Trauma Congress, to be held in San Diego, CA, September 26-29, 2018. The TRLLC team has expanded!

2018 is bringing a slew of new faces to the TRLLC team!

We have two new epidemiologists joining the epidemiology division: Aaron Chestnut and Erica Sercy.  Jan Leonard will be moving to a consulting role on a part-time basis.

On the clinical coordinator side we welcome Sarah Harness (Research Medical Center), Carolyn Blue (Swedish Medical Center), and Tina Thompson. Tina will be in charge of IRBs across all affiliated hospitals.

The 2017 AAST was well attended by the trauma research group, including five epidemiologists, two basic scientists, and four clinicians.

TRLLC welcomes new affiliate, Research Medical Center: Kansas City

Trauma Research, LLC is excited to announce a new partnership with Research Medical Center (RMC): Kansas City. RMC is a certified level I trauma center in the HCA midwest division.

With the addition of RMC, there are now 4 level I trauma centers and other level 2-4 trauma centers affiliated with TRLLC . We look forward to future multi-center studies across all of our affiliate trauma centers!

76th Annual AAST meeting in Baltimore, MD

Abstract acceptance notifications have now been sent out for the The 76th Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST).

Houston, we (dont) have a problem! ISC was a success

This year’s 2017 International Stroke conference (ISC) in Houston, TX was well attended by the epidemiology staff at TRLLC. A huge thanks goes out to Drs. Judd Jensen, Jeff Wagner, and Alicia Bennett for presenting three of our poster presentations at the 2017 ISC.

Congrats to Dr. Wagner for an excellent podium presentation on “Predictors of good functional outcome in an acute ischemic stroke cohort with a large infarct core treated with mechanical thrombectomy: signals to treat?

Congrats to MCP for becoming an ACS accredited Level I trauma center!

We would like to congratulate Medical City Plano (formerly The Medical Center of Plano) for their successful American College of Surgeons (ACS) review and new distinction as an ACS accredited level I trauma center!  Trauma centers are designated as levels 1 through 4 by the ACS, with level 1 centers providing the most comprehensive level of care. MCP was a verified level 2 trauma center prior to this successful review in 2017.

There were many people who worked tirelessly to receive this important distinction, but a special thanks goes out to the leadership of Dr. Matthew Carrick, Trauma Medical Director and Dr. David Bar-Or, Trauma Research Director!

Six studies to be presented at the 69th annual AAN meeting this April

Three studies to be presented at the Society of Trauma Nurses conference

Trauma Research LLC will be presenting three studies at the 20th annual Society of Trauma Nurses conference, to be held April 6-7, 2017 in St. Louis MO.

Only the top three research submissions are selected for a podium presentation. We are honored that two of our abstracts were selected.
